U S A 2006 | Run time: 87 min. | Director: Logan Smalley
FLORIDA PREMIERE
Meet 16-year-old Darius Weems from Athens, Georgia, who was born with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), the most common fatal genetic disorder to affect children worldwide. Darius had never seen a range of mountains, dipped his toes in the ocean, or even crossed the state line… until a group of friends rented a wheelchair-accessible RV and hit the road on the adventure of a lifetime. Their main goal is to convince MTV’s “Pimp My Ride” to customize Darius’s wheelchair, helping to raise awareness for DMD. But their journey will bring plenty of surprises and unforgettable moments.
Attending: Director Logan Smalley, Darius Weems, Darius' mother Jamie Robinson, Sam Johnson, Daniel Epting, Andrew Carson and Ben Smalley.
